Rent your home to a trusted local employee and earn a $3k grant from the Town of Truckee.

Any residential property in Truckee that is currently sitting empty or rented short-term qualifies. If you are already renting your property long-term it does not qualify for the grant.

At least 50% of the adults over 18 in the household (related or unrelated) must work at least 20 hours per week, for an employer located in the geographic boundaries of the Truckee Tahoe Unified School District (TTUSD)

Households must not make over 120% of the area median income. For unrelated adults over 18, you can take the average of your income. The income limits are as follows: 1 person — $77,650; 2 people — $88,700; 3 people — $99,800; 4 people — $110,900; 5 people — $119,750

The Town of Truckee has a goal of funding innovative programs that unlock existing housing stock for local employees. This program is funded by taxpayer dollars through the general fund.

The grant is dispersed to qualifying homeowners in two installments by the Town of Truckee. One ($1,500) payment is dispersed upon lease signing, and one ($1,500) payment is dispersed at the 1-year mark when the lease has ended.

The Town of Truckee and Landing Locals will accept applications for the Long-Term Rental Grant Program on a rolling basis. Funding is in place to offer 25 grants per year.
